Christmas Wishlist

Christmas is around the corner.. But seriously it just snuck up on me this year. Here are some items I have on my wishlist this year.

I am obsessed with how cute this is and I just know it would make my coffee or hot cocoa just that much more enjoyable 😀.

I have never been a gold jewelry fan but right now I am absolutely in love with anything gold. These are both super cute but I think my favorite is the LC Lauren Conrad bracelet from Kohls.
Basically anything from fleurtygirl.com. I love this boutique from New Orleans and miss being able to shop in the stores. I already know that next time I make it to NOLA I'm going to have to set aside extra money specifically to spend there. Lol.

This pretty little watch will round up my Christmas wishlist. Kate Spade. All gold. Touch of pink. Perfection.

26.

Wow, time is flying by. When did I become an adult? Can time please slow down a little? It is completely true when adults tell you when you're young to enjoy it because the years start flying by.
This year I had to work on my actual birthday so we celebrated the day before by taking a day trip to St. Augustine, FL, the oldest city in the US. It is a beautiful city and I cannot wait to go back and be able to spend a little more time there.
As soon as we arrived we decided first thing to do was to find a place to have lunch. Leave it to us to find a New Orleans style restaurant :) Harry's Seafood Bar and Grille did not disappoint. After some delicious shrimp n' grit and red beans and rice we were ready to embrace the cold weather and explore.
Next stop was Castillo De San Marcos where we walked around and explored. I love history and remember learning all about this in elementary school so it was awesome to be able to see it in person. We also got to catch the firing of the cannon so that was really neat. (The cannon is made out of white bread so as soon as they fire it all the birds start going crazy eating the debris.)
After we were done at the fort we walked around some more and found the St. Augustine Brewery and did a tour and tasting. We got to taste their gin and vodka and see the barrels that are holding their whiskey that will be ready in four years. We got out of there and stopped and had a beer at A1A Ale Works which I definitely want to make a point to return to on my next trip to the city and then it was time to head home.
So thankful that I get to live near so many great things. Cheers to another year older!

Weekend Recap

Friday:
Friday I was off of work so I went shopping to buy a dress for the wedding I was going to be attending on Saturday. Usually I have absolutely no luck finding anything in Forever 21 but Friday must have been my day. I loved all ten of the dresses I tried on but narrowed it down to two of them that I ended up buying. They were having a 30% off dresses sale which made it even better, and I walked away with two for under $20. Score!

Saturday:
The weather was perfect for an afternoon wedding of Josh's friends on the lake.

Sunday:
We both worked during the day but got off in time to catch the whole Saints game. We went to a sports bar and watched our boys beat Green Bay! We definitely need more wins guys!

Why I am making the plunge into the blogging world.

After starting a blog a few months ago and buying the domain, I realized I wasn't happy with the name and the direction it was going. I decided to finally start a new one and actually stick with it this time!
I want this space of mine to document my life and all the changes that will be coming soon. While I wish I would have started one when I first moved to Florida from New Orleans a year ago, I feel like now the time will be right. Recently engaged three months ago (no date set yet, can anyone relate?!), I want this to be a place where I can come and write about our life and anything else I choose. Would love for y'all to follow along!

Hawaiian Engagement

The 8-Mile Hike:

We started out on our adventure of hiking 8 miles to Hanakapiai Falls very early on our fourth day in Hawaii. Somebody, not naming any names, read that the terrain for this hike was for beginners. Ha.  We found out pretty early on that it wasn't exactly easy. But let me tell you, it is definitely worth it (maybe even more so for me).

The views are absolutely gorgeous of the Na Pali Coast on the trail and many photo opportunities await. The trail consists of hiking up rocks, through mud, even crawling across a small waterfall. Two miles into it and you reach a beach that can only be accessed from the trail or by boat. This is a good time to stop and eat a snack, rest for a few minutes and get ready for the last two miles to the waterfall. Personally I think the last mile to it was the hardest because you're getting tired, hungry for lunch and anxious to get there already. Hikers heading back from it are telling you you're almost there and you want to believe that but you've been hearing that for a while now, lol.

Once you can actually start to see the waterfall from the trail you realize you truly are close and pick up your pace a bit. The waterfall is amazingly beautiful, no picture we took of it will ever do it justice. Really is something you have to see with your own eyes to fully appreciate. We sat down on the rocks on the waters edge and had lunch and relaxed a bit. Little did I know my life was about to change in a few minutes.

I was sitting with my legs in the water cooling off while Josh was on his own rock
about ten feet away from me, (growing courage, his words). He finally came over and sat with me where we talked about how beautiful it was there and he asked me if I would be mad if he didn't get down on one knee here. I probably looked at him with a weird look on my face and smiled and thought that must mean he wasn't going to ask that day. And of course the next thing out of his mouth was him asking me to marry him :)

I seriously can not think of a more perfect location for him to have asked. We may or may not ever go back and do that hike again, but I will forever hold Hanakapiai Falls dearly in my heart. Perfect location. Perfect guy. Perfect ring. Definitely made the 4 mile hike back a little easier!

The beautiful Na Pali Coast behind me.
Can finally start to see our destination.

The Hanakapiai Falls, so much better in person.

About Me

Hey Y’all!
My name is Brittany and I am a 20-something year old living and loving life in Orlando, FL. I moved here in May of 2013 with my Fiancé (his hometown) and haven’t looked back since! We have two fur babies; Leo a rescued Chihuahua and Stella a Boston Terrier.
If you ask me where I’m from you’ll likely get the answer “everywhere”. I moved here from New Orleans where I lived for 4 years, before that I lived in a small town in Idaho and I was born and raised in Central California. Whew! I wouldn’t trade living in any of those places for anything though! I have a little bit of every state in me and proud of it. I say y’all, wear cowboy boots, and have “like” in my vocabulary more then I would like to admit J.
Oh, and I am also a huge New Orleans Saints Fan (Who Dat?!).
Excited for you to stop by and hope y’all decide to stay a while!
